Returns and exchanges

I want you to be happy with your purchase and understand that buying online can be tricky. I accept returns of purchases if you change your mind. Please follow the returns process below to manage your return.

I will accept returns within 14 days of delivery. You must return the items within 30 days of receiving them and all shipping costs must be borne by the customer.

If a part is damaged during shipping, I will replace this for you (items damaged in the post should be covered for damage as part of the postal fee). I will not refund if the part is broken from carelessness during construction, or for any breakages or defects caused by normal wear and tear, improper use or construction, or customer negligence. Returns process:

  • Contact me before sending your return, within 14 days of receiving your items, with details of the problem;

  • Returns or exchanges will be accepted up to 14 days after you have received your items (as determined by postage tracking number);

  • Please contact me immediately for specific instructions if you:

o   receive a damaged delivery

o   receive an item that you believe is faulty;

  • Refunds & exchanges will be processed within 2 business days after I have received the returned purchase;

  • Refunds will be made to the original method of payment (i.e. same credit/debit card, cash, gift vouchers). Payments made by direct transfer will be refunded as a store credit only. Please note that depending on your card company, it may take up to 15 business days for your refund to appear in your bank account;

  • Refunds apply to the purchase cost only, not any shipping costs;

  • Exchanges or replacement items will not be sent until the original purchase has been received by me. You can also choose to purchase the new item for immediate sending & I will refund the original purchase as soon as it’s received;

  • Returned items must be unused and in resaleable condition:

o   Original packaging must be in good, undamaged condition

o   Any items that have been partially constructed, or show signs of attempt to construct, is not returnable (unless faulty)

o   Items showing signs of use or are in a condition other than they were received cannot be returned;

  •  You are responsible for all costs of returning your purchase back to Red Cottage Miniatures and for shipping any exchanges. We highly recommend you obtain a tracking number for your package. We are not responsible for returns lost during shipping;

  • When we receive your package, we will notify you when your refund has been processed.

Shipping

Australia Post is the only option for shipping I have available. I can combine shipping, including for a group of smaller items or to include small items with dollhouse kits. If you would like a combined postage estimate, please message me before you purchase.

I ship internationally. If your country is not listed at checkout, please contact me. I am not registered to collect VAT for the UK and EU. If you live in the UK or EU and wish to make a purchase, please contact me and I can advise of the minimum spend. Alternatively you may purchase through my Etsy store:

Please note that the shipping cost applied at checkout includes tracking.

Please ask any questions you may have prior to buying and I will do my best to get you an answer. Items will be posted once payment is confirmed received, and usually within 5 business days. Shipping listed is an estimate; I will refund excess shipping costs when applicable. I generally ship twice weekly.

Please note that I cannot be held responsible for any import taxes, customs charges or any other duties. These must be borne by the purchaser/addressee.

Please make sure you will be home or be able to collect your parcel. I cannot be held responsible for parcels that have been returned to me due to the addressee being away or unable to collect the parcel. Any parcels returned to me will not be replaced. However, I will provide a refund of the items’ amount minus shipping OR a replacement when I receive the parcel. You must pay shipping on the replacement items. 

I need to declare the value of the goods for insurance purposes.
